Q: What is 1-844-MyFLVet?

A: 1-844-MyFLVet is a toll free number that veterans and their loved one’s can call 24/7 for emotional support and information pertaining to community resources.

Q: Who answers the calls?

A: The calls are answered by the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, a private non-profit organization. Many people answering the calls are your veteran peers. Veterans and family members who call for assistance receive information pertaining to community resources near their location. Callers can also be directly connected to a Veteran Peer Care Coordinator to help navigate through community and VA resources.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: It doesn’t cost anything to call, and many of the organizations in the database that you’ll be referred to have services available at no charge.

Q: How can you help me?

A: We can provide emotional support and connect you to private, non-profit organizations and government agencies (VA and Non-VA) that have programs and services that may be able to help you. This can include medical care, housing, counseling, legal, and employment resources.

Q: Is it confidential?

A: Calls to 1-844-MyFLVet are confidential. You don’t need to share your name or contact information.

Q: What if I wasn’t honorably discharged?

A: You can call 1-844-MyFLVet regardless of discharge status. There are organizations in your community that help any and all veterans.
